Eddie Spencer & the Queen's Men

Edward Lani Kinilau, Jr. was born on October 21, 1916, and we lost him at the age of 89 on March 5, 2006.
His birth parents were Edward Lani Kinilau, Sr. and Emma Kekoa, but Eddie was hanai’d to the Spencer Ohana, retaining his middle name of Lani.
In the Navy During WWII, Eddie Spencer was a member of Bill Akamunou & his Nautical Hawaiians.
After the War, Eddie was a bus driver performing with HRT’s musical group, The Transit Hawaiians.
Eventually, Eddie’s own group, The Queen’s Men, played in the Barefoot Bar at the Queen’s Surf for the Dinner Show, prior to the Sterling Mossman revues that began later in the evening.
Today, we’ll celebrate the early recorded legacy of the Queen’s Men from the Territorial Airwaves archives.
